Medium Silver, Enamel and 24 Carat Gold Granulation Necklace

Beautiful shades of blue enamel have been used on this necklace that has been made using the ancient granulation technique. Granulation is a technique said to have originated in southern Iraq and involves making small balls of silver and fusing them together.  I have soldered them together in an irregular shape and then added enamel and 24 carat gold foil to the pendant.  It hangs from a fine belcher chain and has a handmade, recycled silver clasp.

Length of pendant: 2.7 cms, width at widest point: 2.3 cms, length of chain: 26 cms.
