Textured Recycled Silver Hidden Message Brooch

This brooch, made from recycled silver, was inspired by a Cecilia Vicuña installation at Tate Modern which highlighted the ancient Andean practice of using objects as a form of communication.  There is such a direct link with jewellery and how our choice of it and how it's worn sends out a message, which can be interpreted in innumerable ways.

The brooch has an undulating design resembling a wave, the silver has been put through a rolling mill with fabric to add texture and has a steel pin on the back to secure it.
